The residents of Lastovo long believed that the oldest recording of the Lastovo Carnival (Lastovski Poklad) was from 1970. However, Maja Resić, while working on interviews for the monograph of the Lastovo Carnival, followed a lead from one of those interviews that led her to an incredible discovery – footage filmed by the RTS (Radio Television of Serbia) team back in 1966. As the Lastovo Carnival is the most important event for every island resident, the screening of these historical frames was met with great enthusiasm. People had the opportunity to see themselves as children, as well as their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents participating in this unique traditional event. This is a brief moment where the residents gathered to watch these rare film recordings together, revisiting the past and sharing memories of precious moments.
